Daily Puzzle #005 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

End word: Downpour, sounds like a king’s rule (sounds like reign) - RAIN

In this puzzle we have three Banish spells, so let’s compare to see which letters we can remove.

CLOUD - RAIN

The words do not have any letters in common, but we have three possess spells to use. We can use one Possess spell to change the N into an O, then use two Possess spells to change the A into a C (one Possess spell to change A to B, then one to change B to C). This means we can Banish the L, U, and D. Once we use all the Banish and Possess spells, we are left with AN.

Now, we use the two Summon spells to get our final two letters R and I. Let’s check our movement spells first. We have one Teleport, and one Mirror spell. Since we can summon the R to the end of the word, we should try to build the word backwards so we can use the Mirror spell. We summon the I first, then we summon the R, giving us ANIR. 

Now, we can use our one Teleport spell to move the A between I and R: NIAR (Remember, a Teleport spell moves the letter at least two positions away)

Then we can use the Mirror spell to reverse the entire word.
