Daily Puzzle #010 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

 End clue: Hearth formed by flame (fire) and location (place) - FIREPLACE

The main thing we notice in this puzzle is that there are NO BANISH spells. This means we must use every single letter of CHIMNEY to create the End word. Let’s find the common letters first: C, I, and E. This leaves 4 letters we need to change with the 7 Possess spells (H, M, N, and Y). Taking the common letters into consideration, we need to create F, R, P, L, A, and E. 

We are given an Echo spell, which will create the second E, and we have one Summon spell.

So, we use the Possess spells like this:

2 Possess spells to change H to F (H to G and G to F)

1 Possess spell to change M to L

2 Possess spells to change N to P (N to O and O to P)

2 Possess spells to change Y to A (Y to Z and Z to A)

This gives us CFILPEA. We then Echo the E and Summon the R to get CFILPEEAR.

For movement spells, we have one Teleport and Chaos, so we look to see which letter is already in its correct position. It’s the P, so we use Teleport to move the P to a different location, making sure no other letter is put in its correct position. Then we use Chaos to create the End word.
