Daily Puzzle #011 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

End word: Tempest hidden in firST OR Middle - STORM

Looking at the letter spells in this puzzle we have four Banish spells, two Echo spells, and three Possess spells. There are no Summon spells, so all the letters we need will be present in or created from the Start Word.

We only have one movement spell: Swap, so as we create the correct letters, we should find that three of the letters will be in the correct positions, and two will need to be swapped.

Let’s figure out which letters to Banish:

We can keep the T and R, and the N can be changed into an M or O, so we will Banish the H, U, D, and E, leaving us with TNR.

Now, we have two Echo spells, but STORM doesn’t have any double letters, so this means we will Echo a letter and then use a Possess spell on it. We need an S at the beginning, so we can Echo the T (TTNR), then use Possess to change the first T into an S (STNR).

We just need the O and M, and the N can be changed into both of these letters. So we use Echo on the N to make STNNR, then use the two Possess spells to change the first N to O and the second N to M. (STOMR)

All that is left is to use the Swap spell to swap the M and R and get the End word.
