Daily Puzzle #015 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

End word: Vehicle secluded in a draB, ICY CLEaring - BICYCLE

We have one Banish spell, so comparing the words

WHEEL

BICYCLE

we see that we will keep one E and the L. We have some Possess spells, so we can change the H into an I, and the W can be changed into the Y (using 2 Possess spells: W to X and X to Y). This means we will Banish an E. Once we remove the E, change H to I, and change W to Y, we are left with YIEL.

We still need B, C, and C. The letter spells we have left are one Summon, two Echo, and one Possess. We just need to figure out the best order to put these in.

Our movement spells are two Teleport spells and one Mirror spell. If we look at our current arrangement (YIEL), we see that the end of the word bicycle (LE) is backwards near the front of the word. Since we will be adding the B at the end of the word, we can build the word backwards and use the Mirror spell at the end to reverse it. The Teleport spells can be used to move the Y and I into position.

Working with this theory, we can Summon the B (YIELB), Echo the B (YIELBB), then use Possess on the first B to make it a C (YIELCB). Then we can Echo the C (YIELCCB). 

All that is left is to Teleport the Y to the position between the Cs (IELCYCB), and then Teleport the I between the C and B (ELCYCIB). Finally, we can use the Mirror spell to reverse the entire word.
