Daily Puzzle #018 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

End word: Adventurer from former flame (EX), role (ROLE), and public relations (PR), rearranged - EXPLORER

We need to Banish one letter from MAP. The only letter we can’t use is A, so we Banish the A, leaving MP. We need the P, but we will use a Possess spell on the M and make it an L (LP).

We have 3 Summon spells, but we still need two Es, two Rs, X, and O. We can use the P to create the O, saving the Summon spells for the other three letters. So, we Echo the P (LPP), then use Possess to change P to O (LPO). Then we Summon an E, and Echo the E (LPOEE).

Next, we can Summon the R, and Echo the R (LPOEERR). Finally, we Summon the X to get all of our letters (LPOEERRX).

Now, we have two Swap spells and two Teleport spells. Comparing what we have to what we need:

EXPLORER

we can see that we need to Teleport an E to the beginning of the word (ELPOERRX), and Teleport the X to the second position (EXLPOERR).

Then, we need to Swap the L and P (EXPLOERR), and Swap the E and R, to get EXPLORER.
