Daily Puzzle #020 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

End word: Dwelling from ewe sound (U) mixing with shoe (anagram of U and SHOE) - HOUSE

In this puzzle, our letter spells are one Banish, two Possess, and two Summon. Comparing the words

ROOF

HOUSE

we see that we can keep an O, use one Possess spell to change the R to S, and the other Possess spell to change F to E. This means we can start by using Banish to remove an O (ROF).

After using the Possess spells, we are left with SOE. This leaves two Summon spells to add the H and U to the word.

Looking at our movement spells, we see we have two Swap spells, so we have to be sure and summon the letters in a way that allows us to perform the swaps.

The H needs to be in the first position and currently the S is in the first position (SOE). The S belongs in the fourth position, so we will summon the H first to get it in the fourth position (SOEH). Then we can summon the U (SOEHU). 

All that is left is to Swap the S and H (HOESU) and Swap the E and U (HOUSE).
