Daily Puzzle #023 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

End word: Keep dry with messed up (anagram of) RUM LABEL - UMBRELLA

Looking at our available letter spells, we see that we have two Banish spells, so let’s compare the words

We have a U, L, and E in common. We can use two Possess spells to change the P into an R (P to Q and Q to R), so we will use the Banish spells to remove both Ds, as they are useless to us here. Once we Banish and change the P to R, we have RULE. We still need M, B, L, and A. We have two Summon spells, two Echo spells, and one more Possess spell.

Out of the four needed letters, we won’t have to summon an L because we have one we can Echo, and the A/B can be made by a Summon/Echo/Possess combo. This means we will have to Summon an M and either A or B.

Our only movement spell is Chaos, so we will need to be careful how we summon to be sure all letters will move when we use it. Let’s Summon the A first (RULEA), then Echo the A (RULEAA), then Possess the second A into a B (RULEAB). Then we can Summon the M (RULEABM).

All that is left is to Echo the L, but we notice that adding an L in the middle of the word puts the E in its correct position. So, let’s use the Chaos spell first to get UMBRELA, and use the Echo spell last to echo the L and get UMBRELLA.
