Daily Puzzle #031 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

End word: Farm vehicle from reversed rot (TOR) on the end of a backwards cart (TRAC) - TRACTOR

In this puzzle, there are no common letters between the start and end words. We have 4 Banish spells, and FIELD only has 5 letters, so we will only be using one of the letters. So, we can start by using our Banish spells on the F, I, E, and L, leaving us with D. Then we can use a Possess spell to change the D to C.

We notice that we have 3 Echo spells, and TRACTOR only has two double letters (T and R), so we will have to use the Echo/Possess combo. We still have two Possess spells. We also have three Summon spells. We still need the letters T, R, A, T, O, R.

Before we decide, we should look at our movement spells. Only two Teleport spells, which means we should try to keep the letters in the correct order as much as possible.

Since we have the C, let’s Echo the C (CC) and then change the first C to an A using two Possess spells (BC, then AC). Then, summon a T (ACT) and Echo the T (ACTT). Summon the O (ACTTO). Then, summon the R (ACTTOR), and Echo the R (ACTTORR).

All that is left is to Teleport an R to the beginning (RACTTOR), then Teleport a T to the beginning (TRACTOR).
