Daily Puzzle #032 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

End word: Turning tool from small bird (WREN) and opening church pair (CH) - WRENCH

Looking at the spells in this puzzle, we notice that we have 2 Banish spells. This means we will need to use two letters from BOLT to create two of the letters in WRENCH. The word “wrench” is six letters, and we have 2 Possess spells and 4 Summon spells. This means we will add four letters we need, and the two letters from “bolt” will be alphabet neighbors of the ones we need. 

In this case, B can be changed to C and O can be changed to N. So, we start by using Banish on the L (BOT) and the T (BO). Then use our Possess spell to change B to C (CO) and O to N (CN).

Now we just need to summon the other four letters. Looking at the movement spells, we see that we only have one Mirror spell to use. This means we have to be careful how we summon to get the letters in the order we need. 

First, summon the E (CNE), then the R (CNER). Then, summon the W (CNERW), and summon the H last, giving us CNERWH.

Since the H is in the correct position, all that is left is to use the Mirror spell to reverse the CNERW portion of the word, which gives us our End word, WRENCH.
