Daily Puzzle #033 - Solution

Keep in mind that many puzzles have more than one correct solution.

Spells can ultimately be used in a different order and get the same result.

As long as your solution follows the spell rules, uses all of the given spells, and creates the correct ending word, your solution is correct even if it doesn’t match the printed solution exactly.

End word: Instrument fashioned (anagram) from PAIN and nothing (O) - PIANO

Comparing the words in this puzzle

we see that there are no common letters. We have 2 Banish spells, 2 Echo spells, 6 Possess spells, and 1 Summon spell. PIANO has no double letters, so we will be using an Echo/Possess combo with both Echo spells. That leaves 4 Possess spells to use on two of the letters from KEYS. 

We can change the K to an I and the Y to an A, so we first use Banish to remove the E (KYS) and the S (KY). Then two Possess spells to change K to I (JY, IY) and two Possess spells to change Y to A (IZ, IA).

We have two Mirror spells to use for movement, so let’s try to keep the letters in order as much as possible. 

First, use Summon to add an N (IAN), then use Echo on the N (IANN), then Posses the second N to O (IANO). Now, you can use the last Echo spell on the O (IANOO), and the last Possess spell on the second O to make it a P (IANOP).

Now that we have all of our letters, use a Mirror spell to reverse the IANO (ONAIP). then use the second Mirror spell to reverse the entire word and get PIANO.
